Manhattan Living

The yearly trip to New York was a world wind of networking, fashion, friends and having a good time. For those who follow me on Instagram and on Snap Chat for 2 weeks I was in the US for a number of fun festivities. First I headed to Philadelphia for two days for Made in America Festival, which consisted of seeing the likes of Rihanna, Chance the Rapper, Cold Play and many more of my favourite music artists. Then I headed back to New York for Fashion Week events, parties and of course to catch-up with old and new friends.

New York is such a fast pace city, with so much going for young creatives and most importantly the opportunity to collaborate. When I was out there I really saw young, smart women come together and work on projects and just bring one another in on opportunities which was so empowering to witness. It is something I want to embrace here in the UK, we have amazing black girls killing it within their creative area’s of expertise and it is important that we stand together and create amazing moments. Especially when the opportunities are not being handed to us, we have to stand and create them together!

Everyday Getup

This is basically my everyday get up and go attire when I have 5 minutes to figure out what I am going to wear. To be honest that is exactly what happened when I was getting ready to shoot this and I just grabbed what I wore a few days before to basically show you LOL!

Evolving personal style is such a close personal experience and I hate that sometimes as a blogger you may feel a little pressured to look like you’re on a runway living fabulous. When in reality life is not like that, sometimes it’s all about a pair of jeans, a cute T and heels and then you run out the door to conquer the day.

White T & Some Chuck Taylors

There is nothing more convenient sometimes than wearing a white t-shirt and jeans and going about your day. The key to casual comfortable basics for me are having quality transitional pieces that can live in your wardrobe through the seasons and ever changing trends. For me that starts off with Comme Des Garcon Play x Converse sneakers classic pair that goes with most of my day to day outfits and are really comfortable to wear from morning to night, i got these from Farfetch, one of the best online shopping sites and plus they even have botuiques too, where you can purchase the items that you havealso seen online, giving you the option for either a online or instore shopping experience! This weekend I headed to Love Box Festival and they were my go to trainers to dance away in. I shot some pics of what I usually wear my chuck Taylors with and to be honest I wore them all weekend. The Leg Wrap

Shoes, shoes shoes! When I see a beautiful pair of heels its a match made in heaven! I was shopping with my family a few weeks ago and I came aross these Stuart Weitzman Leg Wrap heels, I was so drawn, the purchase experience took place within 5 minutes of looking at them.

Since I became aware of the brand in 2014 I have been a fan of thier classic style and quaility leather material used to piece a simple but detailed shoe designs. I think the Leg Wrap heels are fun, chic and sassy for the summer season. you can dress it up or down and I went for a dress down look, keeping it casual because thats how my life has been; casual day to day outfitd for work and to be honest life has been positivly busy!

So I styled my new Stuart Weitzman with Levi Vinatge jeans and a Wolford Filigra Lace Pullover taking advantage of Londons sun that was beaming.

Power In Simplicity

Simplicity can reference many things in your life, such as style, purpose, approach and beliefs. I’ve learnt over the last few years to keep my goals and mind-set simple, which helps you to flow through life sustaining your focus and reducing moments of anxiety. (Remember you can’t pray and worry at the same time!). I know sometimes it is easier said than done but this is a mantra that comes with practice, discipline and time. Do not let worry override in your mind and heart.

I also use this approach when it comes to fashion. Not thinking too hard and dressing for how I feel in that moment in time, so that I keep the process simple and fun! When I do that, I always end up putting together the finest outfits. Fashion is best when its fun and just becomes a part of you instead of you trying to be apart of the hype. Do you as you do that best.

Same Jeans, Same Day, Different Moment!

Following from my last post, sharing some pictures I took from last week again, I was out all day and all night attending a few events but when I went out later that night, I changed into something a little dressier to fit the occasion. Keeping on the same jeans and heels, i swapped my cream jumper for a Wolford body and a vintage cardigan from my Mothers collection.

I must not be the only one that does this? Do you swap from day to night?

Black 101

Sometimes nothing is more sharp and clean then wearing black. While i have been running around with family recently, nothing other than black has been my go to.

Always remember it is not what you wear but how you wear it, be comfortable and feel free. In saying that since last year I have enjoyed wearing trainers, they are very comfortable and i have grown to love more masculine, tom boy pieces and styles the more i wear trainers. It has been infused into my day to day casual outfits, If you catch me around London you will most probabaly see me in trainers.

I am embracing my authentic self in what i wear, how i feel and what makes me happy. So I hope you will start to see that through my blog post. I do not wear heels everyday even though I would love too, that is not my reality and if you follow me on Snap chat: Olivia_gold you will see more of my causal day to day outfits. FYI I have joined Snap chat: Olivia_gold FOLLOW ME you will see my personality, my family and my everyday life!!! I am not used to sharing myself with the world but now i am embracing me and my world and sharing with those who have been following me for a long time now.

Something speacial and new to share – check out my black 101 featuring: Wolford Velour leggings, which you can buy here now! They are suede effect leggings, with the seams inside of the leggings for a smooth finish. They work well with all looks and more importantly they are very comfortable to wear from day to night.
