Mesh Fits and Rip’s

December 1, 2016

Mesh fits and rip’s is all that it is, but it is impactful. Mixing and matching textures always results for a stylish, chic look. This is more of a cosy girl vibe that I am channelling but I like it. At the core of my style, feminine fits is home, but I always like to challenge myself to stretch myself with a new-normal.

I got these white ripped jeans from ASOSs not too long ago and I have worn them more than a doesn’t times. They are not so tight and not too baggy. Just right for the casual fit I have been looking for. I styled it with a mesh body from Wolford as it adds a sexy flare compared to just wearing general T-shirt. Of course Vans is the ultimate cosy fit footwear that works with everything so I threw them on, as I wear them most of the time.

Black and white is classic and perfect colour combo for this London winter. It is so cold, I can’t express it enough!

Random Thought – Authenticity

In the social world that we live in, it seems so easy for people to get caught up, follow suit and becomes sheep! I say this because as bloggers and influencers becoming the ‘in’ thing. People see this as easy and try to do anything to fit in and perceive the same image, lifestyle. Or even more commonly, get instant gratitude that the likes of Instagram gives people.

For me personally nothing feels more liberating that enjoying who you are and what you stand for. Not wanting to confirm and stand firm behind your beliefs, contrary to what may be popular or popping on the ‘gram’. Purpose over popularity! This is the key, in everything you do, embody and stand for purpose. That ignites authenticity and stability in that. With that being said…Please NEVER believe the hype!

Fall Shimmer – Keeping chic and sassy during winter!

November 3, 2016

Carrying on with my comfortable style winter looks, I came across this stunning shimmer, glittery jumper dress from Zara. It is such a beautiful one piece that you can throw on and feel glam.  I did wear this out with ripped jeans and it looked very chic. For you guys I wanted to style it with velvet boots.

I don’t usually wear much glitter and shimmer dressy looks but I had to, when I saw this jumper dress. Pairing the dress with a diamond look choker, it really adds sass and chic styling to the overall look. Of course ankle boots are a huge trend this winter and I am really into chunky comfortable heels, so it was an easy decision to purchase these boots!

Fall Trends This Season is…

Keeping it simple and comfortable for the winter adding a bit of shimmer, glitz and glam can sass up any everyday outfit.

Last winter I actually put together a cool casual look here too.

I actually have a few favourite winter looks from last year, so I am going to share with you another few of my top 2015 winter style post:

Starting with Black 101, as its states an all-black casual look wearing my favourite Nike high top air forces. Thirdly an all grey look featuring Schuch knew high boots which I still wear today!

Be You, Be Yourself, It Is Enough!

July 19, 2016

This year has definitely been one so far filled with a lot of ups and downs, people judging and not always having genuine intentions. You present your best self at all time but to them you’re not what they looking for. What does that even mean?

I have come across a lot of negative, condescending people in this industry (work specifically) who didn’t want my light to shine at all. Who I am and who I represent myself as, is not enough for them or what they ideally would like. To be honest I have come to terms with that and I will explain why further down. It is a shame that the ‘creative fashion industry’ doesn’t take to diversity as much as they say they do but I will not let that stop me, I may not be who they want but I am enough, I have something unique to offer just like anyone else.

I am talking about a few recent experiences this year that has concluded to the same thing such as points like this; the ‘ideal’ girl for this role or the ‘person’ we are looking for…When I heard phrases like this said me to me, I laughed inside because I do exactly what the opportunity and skill set requires but it’s not enough? What are they picturing that I am not giving you? What are they seeing that they feel is not the right fit? I have been told that my blog is a conflict of interest, with no explanation. I was told my outside of work activities was breeching my contract, which was helping a friend on her amazing event. Anything I did was an issue, they were always looking to highlight what they thought was wrong. It’s funny because I got advise from my mentor and other girl bosses in the industry who I would consult on any queries my worked flagged just to cross check if I was doing anything wrong or not and they would always reassure me, what I am doing is just fine.

My horrible experiences of not being accepted once made me question my ability and question my passion for a minute, crazy right! But I never stray too far from my truth and who Olivia Gold is, I know who I am and know what I have to offer and I will NEVER let anyone make me question myself again. If you don’t like me because I am not the right fit then so be it GOODBYE. Sometimes god opens your eyes and reveals the unexpected.

I know my worth and I know my purpose. I share this with you, as encouragement and a note to myself to never give up, we are all going through trials and it is not a race so don’t watch what others are doing. Focus on you and stay away from the noise, be still and let god guide you. Very soon, someone will appreciate ALL you have to offer.
