Checked and ready to kick 2019! Hoe are you starting the new year?

There is a sense of expectation that something new is just going to happen out of nowhere. When in reality that is not the case it is just another day, don’t get me wrong we are truly blessed to see another day and be in a new year. But I think today’s society we have a warped expectation on what it means for us. This year I truly wanted to flow into the new year and basically go with the mantra of- new year, same me. As we grow it is important to love who you are and who you are becoming and I just want too embrace that now more than ever and not put too much pressure on myself. Consistent pressure does not do anyone any good, I repeat consistent pressure does not do anyone good! What does is, moving in the flow of your life for you. Not what Instagram is telling you, or the world. Once you get to that sense of awakening or clarity, it removes an unnecessary pressure and you can just do you, and do it really well!

How I Am Getting Into 2019!

With that being said the core of my creativity is through fashion and it always had been I feel joy expressing myself through fashion and I want to continue to do so. Growing my Life Of A Marketing Girl community has been a fear to overcome which I am so proud of, as I can see the growth and has such amazing feedback. It really is a testament to when you focus on you and do it well, the results show, So let cheers to the new year and the same us because the same us is GREAT!

Autumn Tonals – Brown My New Nude

Autumn is here, which means clocks go back and the nights get darker quicker. But more importantly, autumn fashion is in full effect. Its all about the Autumn Nude.

The dark beige, rust brown and burnt orange tones that seem to be ruling the high street. As I walked througOxfordrd street last week. I popped into Mango, Zara and H&M and that was the main colour palette that was reigning the shop window. As well as the craze for leopard print too!

To be honest, it’s only the last year that I have warmed t this tone. A few years ago, I thought this shade of brown wouldn’t look nice on me it will drow me out and I would like bland. Crazy right? But thank god for growth, self-love and confidence. I love it and has become a favourite shade to wear in summer and in winter.

This whole is from Zara of course as they are nailing the various key trends for winter. The trousers are cord material in a rust brown shade which fit amazing. a low/mid rise flared trousers, channelling 70’s era. I don’t have any flares in my wardrobe, so this was a nostalgic purchase as I would always be in flares in school back when we had ‘own clothes day’.

I wore this with a matching long sleeve crochet weaved top. which felt amazing on. It also comes in white, which I plan to get as it is a perfect brown. I wore this with my Stuart Weitzman wrap leg heeled sandals which is a classic heel that works with the most outfit I tend to wear.

So yes, I will e being brown, dark brown staples for my wardrobe as I loveeeeee this shade and can’t believe it took me this long to like it. This is why fashion is so important even though it is only clothes. Trends and colours come back and something that you may not of like in the past becomes a personal favourite and element of your style evolution which I just a reminder about like. You have an opportunity to change what you don’t like or change your mindset!

Vintage Levis – The Never Ending Denim Stable

Vintage Levis are the most practical and diverse stable pieces of clothes to have in your wardrobe. The best thing is, you can get on eBay. That is where I have bought all of my Levis products.

Shopping On eBay

Since I have been making more of a conscious effort to buy items that last and that are very versatile. Denim has always been the one thing that you can get the most wears out of and work for ALL occasions. This year I had to purchase a new pair of denim shorts, as I have put on a bit of (happy) weight over the last 6 months and needed to get a bigger size. I did not want to spend £50 on another Levi and remembered easy it is just to get a second-hand pair from eBay. The newly purchased shorts cost me a total of £12 including packaging. Bargain!

It made me realise how handy it is to purchase off eBay, as you can get a really good steal of there. I also have purchased vintage Levi vintage denim jacket which was only around £25, it has that old feel, which makes it even more perfect.

I styled the shorts with a sand oversized blouse from Zara which has crochet detailing. A real summer casual day outfit. I spent the rest of the day walking around London and going for lunch with my Boyfriend. Summer days are always better when you spend time outside and explore where you are in the sun.

My summer go-to heeled sandals have been these white sandals from Topshop. They too also work with most looks and are very comfortable. I have linked where you can get these from directly.

The New Age Store Experience – Zara launch an augmented reality app for in-store shoppers

Coming to a Zara store near you, From April 2018, the Spanish fashion empire Inditex (Zara) will be introducing augmented reality app for in-store shoppers. What does this mean? The new innovative, the function will show models wearing selected Zara looks from its ranges when a mobile phone is held up to a sensor within the store or designated shop windows and customers can click through to buy the clothes. The Business Of Fashion reference states, that the mega fashion house is set to introduce the future thinking experience specifically targeted for younger Zara customers who are in their 20’s and 30’s.

Zara is already renowned for their fast work rate to bring couture and catwalk fashion trends in a matter of days to the high street! I personally could speak for a wide majority of my generation to say that Zara is the go-to for designer-led styles at a high street price point.

This is a great innovative development within the fashion industry. As some retail houses are currently struggling to monitor consumers spending power due to financial, social and economic constraints which tighten up the retail market. For Inditex they seem to be nowhere near red and are focusing on following their consumer’s behaviour. Tapping into mindset strategy and using that as a key marketing toolkit and development a new store experience strategy to lure in new and existing customers.

With digital being the future for GenZ and Millennials forefront, Zara is investing in their younger consumers through their new reality display!

To me, this is a win-win concept. When it comes to brand disruption and not only through an online journey but through in-store experience. Merging two strongest elements within a customers shopping experience. It has been issued that H&M are preparing launch a similar augmented system. But for now, expect to see 120 Zara stores worldwide who will have this within their stores for customers to interact when they visit the store.

It is exciting when brands continue to test new services, it shows the potential that comes with agile and flexible ways of working as a business. Reacting to mindset milestones and implementing activity to engage new consumers. As an avid shopper, it is something to be excited about, as it conquers a lot of practical queries you may come across when shopping. It actually will solve a few when shopping for example; personal shopping, styling and showing you further diverse options. This is because the system will also enable models to pop up on packages of online purchases delivered to customers, showing alternative outfits.

Innovation is the key, and Inditex is using key mindset insights to tackle and conquer new height which is an exciting concept I the retail fashion industry.

How To Style Wide Leg Pants – 2018 looks! Chic, casual & cool

On my Instagram, I shared my 2018 style muse is kahlana Barfield Brown. She is the queen of layering and wearing wide leg detailed trousers. I fell in love with her style have added her vibe to my mood board.

I haven’t done much shopping this new year sale as I didn’t really see anything that I wanted to add to my wardrobe. Which is unfortunate as a shopping geek. But what caught my eye, were these Zara stripe trousers that were completely giving me Khalana vibes. So I had to purchase. Continuing with my casual, chic comfort theme, layering has been a really cool way to play with colours, patterns, and my personal style.

Being a curvy girl (slim thick) you can get caught up trying to dress for your shape, making sure you hug the right places. But after a while, that can get a bit boring and played out. I think the Fashionva girls have got that covered (no shade, as I genuinely love my curves and showing them). But this is why I was so drawn to kahlana, she plays with bigger shape trousers, oversized t-shirts or jumper and kills it with a killer heel. It is the perfect balance of casual cool for a girly girl.

So I’m starting to purchase wide length bottoms that have detail, such as the stripe in these. I hope to find more and will document this journey on my Instagram, so make sure that you are following me. keeping it simple, I paired these with an oversized shirt and a leather jacket. I was even thinking if I wanted to add more ‘spice’ to this look, it would be super chic if I put on a beige/taupe waistcoat.

Freedom – Your Place Of Solitude

“Freedom – Your Place Of Solitude”

Freedom is one of those intangible things that we all want. Whether it is financial freedom or career freedom we cannot deny our hunger for it. When I shot these pictures I had just got back from holiday and felt free lol. I spent a week not worrying about anything back in London, I just woke up looked at my boyfriend feeling grateful that God has blessed me with such an amazing man, we laughed together and decided what we wanted to do that day and we did what we wanted. Doesn’t that sound like freedom? Plus I had a beautiful tan which I cannot wait to top up again.

I have been doing some soul searching and out of all the things I want out of life like money, dream house, dream wardrobe lol. More than anything I want everlasting freedom. I googled freedom and have shared what the definition is of freedom:

“The power or right to act, speak, or think as one wants.”

It doesn’t even mention money or any material substances you think provides freedom, which is a reminder that freedom starts from the mind and finding solitude in that. Your circumstances good or bad does not define freedom it is more your state of mind.

This also has a connection to style. When I feel and look good I feel free. I feel at my best when I present my best authentic self, that to me is also freedom. This is something I always want to evoke as my style journey evolves over time. As we grow it’s so important to remember freedom is not through material things and more about freedom and happiness in the mind first!

5 Days In Morocco

5 days in paradise, 5 days with my love, 5 days in Morocco.

5 days In Morocco, felt like 5 days in serenity! It was an amazing holiday embracing the culture, new experiences, food, and language. And I want to share it with you and let you know about all the fun things you can do in Morroco.

Day 1

Day 1 is always an open day as you just arrive and settle in. Well, we did just that and more. Starting with our hotel, we stayed at the Dellarosa Hotel, in the center of Marrakesh. It is a small boutique hotel which was really cute and simple. It had a modern Moroccan decor hotel, which was really beautiful. The only downside was our hotel room decor was a dark brown, which wasn’t great for capturing makeup tutorials because t was too dark. Another not so nice experience was the breakfast the options were not too great. But other than that it was a lovely hotel, sometimes you take the good with the bad I guess. It was close to everything and everywhere, which was perfect for us!

To round up on day 1 – We went for an afternoon walk and had lunch/dinner then relaxed in the pool at our hotel and in the evening went to Famous 555 Club. It really cool club that played everything I wanted to hear. I definitely recommend you going there (but don’t turn up before 12 pm they party until 5 am, so 1 am is like early)

Day 2

It was an early start for a tourist day! I finally got to visit Rue Yves Saint Laurent garden. I didn’t know that it was originally owned by an architect Jardin Majorelle and then it was Saint Laurent and Pierre Berge then bought it once Jardin Majorelle passed away. To me, it’s a romantic creative story all about the love of art. And when you can there you feel it and see it.

We also went to the Moroccan market. It felt so authentic being in the midst of it, hearing locals call me and boyfriend brother and sister. Hearing them persuaded to purchase whatever they had to offer. To be honest we enjoyed it and laughed with them as we walked by.

Day 3

We got active!!! Definitely my boyfriends favourite day. We went Quad biking in the desert and then went camel riding. You can usually book these excursions through your hotel and it is really cheap and a full day experience. One to tick off the bucket list!

Day 4

Was a more fun!! We went to a beach house day party, it’s called Famous Beach and owned by the same people that run Club 555 that we went to on day 1. It’s a beautiful mansion, amazing decor (great to capture content) with many pools, Dj, restaurant, and bar. Everything you need in one place to relax and enjoy the sun!

Day 5

Ending our holiday on a high, we went for a beautiful walk enjoying the Moroccan city. It really is a beautiful city, cultural with so much to do and experience. I didn’t get a chance to go the atlas mountain, which is on my wishlist for the next time I go there.

I will also be sharing my FIRST VLOG – from this trip. I’m a freshman with Youtube so bare with me as I get to grips with it.
